Reese Blackwood
With each piece, I choose to immerse myself in the moment, allowing my intuition and present inspiration to guide me. As a result, my subjects span a diverse range typically reflecting the various aspects of nature I find most alluring. The most fulfilling part of creating is the process itself.
I begin with a loose vision open to the possibility of exploration and adaptation whether photographing the intricacies of flowers with a macro lens or sculpting the flowing movement of an octopus in clay. I make deliberate adjustments, allowing the artwork to evolve naturally and avoid forcing an outcome that does not resonate with my artistic vision. I embrace the freedom to choose from many mediums, but some of my preferences include photography, graphite, watercolor, and clay.
I find myself most inspired by art on social media platforms, specifically ones that involve rich, warm colors and subjects of woodland nature or comforting human experiences. In essence, my art is an ever-evolving testament to embracing change, trusting my instincts, and honoring the creative process.
