As an artist, I find art in various mediums and subjects that allow me to have fun and expand my knowledge and processes. Either through pastels, acrylic, ebony pencil, or even making jewelry I always choose a subject that captures my attention. Currently, more of my works have been more architecturally focused, for example, watercolor and acrylic paintings of house interiors and exteriors for my college portfolio. When looking for inspiration from other artists I often turn to French impressionists, like Claude Monet or Eugène Boudin. Most subjects I use are nature-related, people, or buildings as this is where I find the most inspiration. There is something so beautiful about life and what we choose to create with it. The subject of my most recent piece ERRATIC HALLUCINATION. The piece is meant to make no sense and simulate a bizarre dream. Everything is made to make the viewer question different placements of the work. The entire drawing is created from my imagination. For this piece, I chose to challenge myself. I accomplished this by looking at nothing online, no references, no asking for opinions, and I used a medium I was previously unfamiliar with copic markers.
