Gwendolyn Mallett

Art is essentially everything to me. It has been there for me throughout my life and it constantly surrounds everything and everyone. I can use art to express myself or to escape myself just based on what I make and how invested in its creation I can become. I have been working this year to develop my painting skills and to work on the perspective and expressionality of my pieces. I like to work in bright colors and portray fluid subjects, such as liquids, fabrics, and hair. I like to work in both three-dimensional and two-dimensional mediums. I am a big fan of using common materials in my work such as cardboard and construction paper. When I'm not working on full pieces I can often be found working on small arts and crafts such as flowers and cards and crocheting and knitting. I make my pieces quickly to capture the image in my brain.
