In recent times, I have taken on a love for nature, specifically flowers. Especially in their beauty and their meanings. I find it interesting how a flower so beautiful can mean something that is just as beautiful as its appearance but also something so devastating. Many of my recent works have revolved around flowers and their meanings.
I think it is an interesting way to communicate feelings and thoughts through flowers. As someone who has a hard time expressing my thoughts and feelings to other people, I definitely think that the flower language is beautiful. Regardless of the fact that it is subtle, and that people may not know to look for the meaning, or that it is confusing to another person, it is a form of communication that allows someone to express themselves without giving their entire heart away.
It is not just communication that makes nature so inspiring to me. It is also the way it can make someone feel, this is what I strive to achieve in my works. In many cases my goal is to take the meaning of the flower and create a piece around it in order for people to see and feel what they mean without having to put much research into it.
In the past few months I have been branching out with different mediums I have been using. Before that, I mostly only used acrylic paint to make smaller paintings. However, moving onto other mediums like watercolor, pastels, and oil paint has helped me to achieve what I want people to feel about my pieces.
